WITH RICH CARAMEL/ CHOCOLATE LIKE TASTE. The fruit is a good
source of digestible sugar (15-20%) and an appreciable source
of protein, fat, fibre and minerals (Ca, P and Fe.). The fruit
is mostly consumed indigenously. Sapota (Achras zapota)
commonly known as chiku is mainly cultivated in India for its
fruit value. INDIA HAS A RICE LAND BANK WITH HIGH FURTILITY,
